Coop’s Hoops was founded in 2014 to honor the memory of Cooper Stock, whose passion for basketball and enjoying life was unequaled. Cooper was 9 years old when he tragically lost his life after being struck by a taxicab on January 10, 2014. Cooper was a Walt “Clyde” Frazier and New York Knicks camper who had a love, like no other, for the game of basketball.

Coops Hoops is dedicated to providing scholarships for boys and girls, ages 7 to 17, to attend the BC Hoops and Walt Frazier Summer Basketball Camp each year. The week Cooper spent at the camp was one was of the best weeks of his life, according to him. In Cooper’s memory, it is Coops Hoops mission to provide a week of fun and learning for children who love basketball, regardless of their means.

BC Hoops is proud to work with Coops Hoops and honor Cooper. This year will be our 6th Annual Cooper Stock Basketball Camp.  The Cooper Stock Basketball Camp Scholarship provides tuition for underprivileged campers to attend the Walt Frazier Basketball Camp at Baruch College in NYC. This year the camp will be in NYC July 29th – August 1st (9am to 4pm daily). Last year 50 campers were sent on scholarship thanks to Coops Hoops.

Each year, one camper is presented with the ‘Cooper Stock Most Heart at Camp‘ award. Below are winners of recent years. These campers are not only great team players but they also have positive, spirited attitudes toward the game.
